Overview

Finance Receipt Importer GPT helps convert receipt photos, files, and receipt details into structured financial records for Family Finances. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the GPT and the connected Family Finances import service.

Information Processed

The GPT and import service may process information you provide, including:

• Receipt images, PDFs, screenshots, or text you upload or paste into the GPT.
• Extracted receipt details such as merchant, date, total, currency, line items, taxes, tips, payment hints, and categories.
• Optional notes, corrections, ownership labels, or classification choices you provide.
• Technical request data needed to operate the import endpoint, such as timestamps and basic error details.

Please avoid uploading receipts or notes that contain sensitive information unrelated to a finance import, such as health details, full payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or passwords.

How Information Is Used

Information is used only to:

• Read, normalize, classify, and prepare receipt transactions for import.
• Save confirmed transaction records in the connected Family Finances database.
• Improve import accuracy through user-provided edits and confirmations.
• Diagnose errors, prevent duplicate imports, and maintain service reliability.

Storage and Retention

Confirmed transaction data may be stored in Family Finances as part of your financial records. Uploaded source files and extracted import batches may be retained only as needed for review, reconciliation, debugging, or duplicate detection. Data that is no longer needed should be deleted or minimized when practical.

Sharing

Receipt and transaction data is not sold. It is not shared with advertisers. Information may be processed by OpenAI as part of your GPT interaction and by the systems used to host and operate Family Finances. Data may also be disclosed if required to comply with law, protect the service, or prevent abuse.

Security

Family Finances uses access controls and standard web security headers to help protect the service. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure, so only upload receipt information you are comfortable processing through the GPT and import service.

Your Choices

You control what you upload to the GPT. You may review and correct extracted information before confirming an import where the workflow provides that option. To request deletion or correction of stored records, contact the Family Finances site owner or administrator.

Children

Finance Receipt Importer GPT is not intended for children under 13 and should not be used to submit information about children.
